Project Information

The project aimed to:

• Improve the quality of semen in dairy cattle production in Vietnam;
• Promote the importation of new dairy cattle breed for abundant dairy cattle herd in Vietnam; and
• Establish a management system of dairy cattle breed in some northern provinces of Vietnam.
  

The immediate objectives included importing and adjusting Jersey dairy cattle breed; constructing a breed farm for pure blooded Jersey dairy cattle; and importing high-bred bull to improve quality of cattle breed and have abundant cattle herd.

Among the expected outputs were the construction of pure blooded Jersey cattle farm with 60 first dairy cattle and importation of 9 bred bulls (7 HF and 2 Fersey) for strengthening quantity and quality of semen in Monbada.

The project targeted the provinces breeding dairy cattle and the dairy cattle breeding sector.
