The project aimed to improve food security of 1.3 million people in crisis annually through food aid intervention to:
Increase enrolment and retention in basic education, decreasing repetition and reduce short-term hunger, particularly among girls; Assist TB patients and people affected by HIV/AIDS to enable them to receive care and treatment and to improve the food security of their households; and Save lives, protect and develop community assets and promote sustainable livelihoods to mitigate the effects of natural disasters.
