The project aimed at improving the livelihood of poor and vulnerable groups of farmers in the poverty-stricken areas in the southern and southwestern regions of Cambodia through the provision of direct and intensive support services by NGOs, thereby enhancing the impact of the counterpart Agriculture Sector Development Program of ADB on reduction of rural poverty.

The field experience of NGOs indicated that these activities would have an immediate impact on the beneficiaries' attitude by raising their sense of self-reliance for their livelihood improvement.
