The project aimed to improve livelihood security of target communities by providing appropriate technical support to alleviate poverty without undermining natural resources. By the end of 2011, the target group would have improved in terms of food security with the help of appropriate agriculture technical training, necessary services and skills for serving the target groups in a sustainable and effective manner.
Around 98% of the respondents should have received a grant at the beginning of the project. Whilst grants were mainly invested into livelihood related activities such as purchase of animals, material for animal raising, agriculture material, seeds, bicycles, grocery shops, material for palm tree, wage for extra assistance at harvest time etc. grants have also been used to prevent debt related to health costs in times of sickness. At the end of the project, 100% of the respondents should have improved in their living conditions.
