This project will provide lunch for hill tribe, stateless, and underprivileged students every day for a full school year. Some of our students are not lucky enough to have a breakfast every morning and a dinner every evening. In some cases, this makes their lunch at Half Day School their main source of sustenance. We desperately want all of our students to be healthy and strong so they can focus on their education. Please help us achieve our goal!
The Half Day School (HDS) provides free education for the children from the village surrounding the DEPDC/GMS site and 6 other villages in the Mae Sai area. Most of these children lack citizenship or identity papers, and they do not have enough money to enroll in the formal education system provided by the Thai government. For many students, lunch at the HDS is their main source of sustenance for the entire day. Securing funds for this critical program is increasingly difficult.
Funds donated toward this project will go directly to the daily purchase of fresh, local ingredients to make healthy vegetarian lunches for students.
We will provide lunch for 106 at-risk students every day. This meal is extremely important to these children. After a nutritious lunch, they are ready to focus on their lessons and the vocational skills classes that will equip them for the rest of their lives.
